PSHE
Through Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education lessons, children learn about themselves as developing individuals and as members of their communities. They learn the basic rules and skills for keeping themselves healthy and safe and for behaving well. We aim to give children opportunities to show they can take responsibility for themselves and their environment. They begin to learn about their own and other people's feelings and become aware of the views, needs and rights of children and older people. As members of the a class and school community they learn social skills such as how to share, take turns, help others, resolve simple conflicts and resist bullying.
We are a Healthy School and follow the Rotherham School Improvement Service scheme of work. This was updated in October 2019 and includes statutory Relationships and Health Education. The areas your child will cover throughout Year 1 and 2 can be seen below. PSHE is planned and taught in classes as well as through weekly assemblies. Visitors such as Road Safety Officers, NSPCC are often invited into school to aid delivery.
