As you are well aware the Summer term has been a very challenging time for all of us. Many staff are parents too and understand how difficult lockdown has been in terms of trying to work from home, as well as manage home learning and keeping your families safe.
I would like to thank you all for your continued support and kind words throughout this period of uncertainty.
In September, we will be coming back to school to a very “new normal” but, as always, we will do everything to ensure transition is as smooth as we can make it.
For our current EYFS and Year 1 children, a letter will be coming out to you on Monday, with details of your child’s new class and arrangements for the new school year. Please bear with us, as you can imagine, there has been a lot to organise.
Over the next few days, teachers will also send a message to their new classes to introduce themselves via Purple Mash.
The last few months have been a challenge for us all and we have really missed seeing all the children but it has been particularly challenging for our Year 2 children as this term is their final term with us. I know plans are already in place for the Junior teachers to phone our Year 2 parents to introduce themselves and answer any questions parents may have.
I would like to say an extra special well done to them all and wish them every success as they move onto the next stage of their learning journey. Hopefully, when it is safe to do so we would like them to call in and see us again.
I would like to thank all the staff in school who have remained positive throughout and a special thank you to Cathy Moutry, our Chair of Governors, who has been a fantastic support to me and the staff.
I hope you all manage to enjoy a relaxing Summer holiday.
A L Tyler
