In class six we had a special delivery! It was a basket containing baking ingredients which made us excited for the learning that was to follow. The theme for the next three weeks was the story of the Gingerbread Man, which was integrated into our learning. We read the recipe and weighed out the ingredients to make our own Gingerbread Men. We created wanted posters for the fox and the children used their imagination to work out how the villain of the story could be caught. In assembly we performed the story in front of the whole school using words and actions. We made our own story maps and wrote the story using our phonic knowledge. We used our fine motor and design skills to make our own Gingerbread Men puppets. The actions of the Gingerbread man were also used as a focus for our 'one less learning' in Maths. The children really enjoyed learning all about (and eating) the Gingerbread Man!
