Visit to St. Leonard's Church by Class 4
A massive thank you to Marg who gave all the Year Ones a tour of our local church today. The children loved learning about some of the Christian artefacts. We learned some new names for things like the pulpit, the lectern, the altar and high altar where the bread and wine is given out at Holy Communion, the font and a lady elegantly modelled the different coloured robes the vicar would wear at different times of the year.
Marg commented on the children's good behaviour and they asked some sensible questions.
We sketched the outside of the church too.
Thank you for giving each child a sticker which celebrates St. Leonard's Church being 150 years old.
