Through Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education lessons, children learn about themselves as developing individuals and as members of their communities. They learn the basic rules and skills for keeping themselves healthy and safe and for behaving well. We aim to give children opportunities to show they can take responsibility for themselves and their environment. They begin to learn about their own and other people's feelings and become aware of the views, needs and rights of children and older people. As members of the a class and school community they learn social skills such as how to share, take turns, help others, resolve simple conflicts and resist bullying. We are a Healthy School and follow the Rotherham Healthy Schools Scheme of work. The areas your child will cover throughout Year 1 and 2 can be seen below.
